Last chance to stock up at the market – and get those Story Trail maps in!

This Thursday is our very last market of 2023. Time to think about stocking up on fruits and veggies to dry, pickle, freeze, or store! (See our instagram for a great video of Kennedy from Warner Orchards explaining how to make pears last til January/February!)

We’ll be painting pumpkins in the kids’ tent and collecting those Story Trail maps. This is the last day for the Story Trail so make sure you enter your map to win big prizes! (If you can’t make it to the market, you can email a pic of your map to info@deca.to).

We’ll have two guests in our Community Booth: Master Gardeners and SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) (pending confirmation.

We’ll also have two Popup Vendors: Sandee’s chocolates is back and Grandma Betty’s Baking is bringing Pumpkin Spice Shortbread and Classic Shortbread.

See you at the last market!

Fall at the Market: Bike Lights and Pumpkin Decorating!

This week we are getting ready for early nights with the help of Cycle Toronto, who will be on hand 430-630 for doing bike safety checks and giving out bike lights. We will also be decorating pumpkins with the kids and celebrating the second last week of the DECA Story Trail — get those maps in!

Flavourfull is our local business popup — your last chance to sample their delicious shortbreads and sauces! And we have a special guest brewery this week, Fairweather Brewery.

See you at the (second last) market!

DECA News, and Market this week: chocolate, music, and all your gardening questions answered!

DECA News

Thank you to everyone who came out to our virtual public board meeting on Tuesday night. Minutes from the meeting will be available on the About Us page by the end of the week.

We hope you had a great time at the Arts Fair this past weekend– we sure did! A huge thank you to Shawna Cotton and team for pulling off another amazing fair. From the live music to the kids activities and food to the incredible roster of artists, it was a truly extraordinary and fun event!

Market this week

It’s time to start stocking up for winter! We have lots of great farm fresh produce for you to freeze, dry or store (more on that next week). And this week our local business popup vendor is Sandee’s Chocolate and Biscotti with treasures like this to enjoy:

For the kids, we’ll have Lane School of Music instrument petting zoo, and face painting starting at 430.

In the community booth, the Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer all of your fall gardening questions.

See you at the market!

Market this week: Community Fridges, art, music, shortbread!

We are coming up on the first day of fall, and the beautiful produce at the market is abundant! Let’s share some of the harvest this week with Community Fridges, back at the market for another collection visit.

We will also have art projects with Create Art Studio, a musical instrument petting zoo with Lane School of Music, and delicious shortbread from our local business popup, Grandma Betty’s Baking!

So bring your non-perishables for donation and we’ll see you at the market!
