What’s Up With The Empty Storefronts? – That’s a question we’ve been trying to answer for years. We’ve heard all sorts of rumours, conjecture and conspiracy theories. Now, DECA’s own, Catherine Porter, is trying to get to the bottom of it for the benefit of all the main streets in this crazy town. Read the first instalment in her Toronto Star column here.

Coyotes – A coyote was spotted on the front lawn of 160 Coleridge Ave on Thursday night, just after midnight. Tell your cats to watch out.

Dollarama – Rumour has it that a Dollarama is slated to move into the space on the N.W. side of Woodbine and Danforth in the old Kresge’s/Ethiopian centre space.

  1. We saw a coyote on Aldergrove the other evening, near the steps down to Woodbine. Gave my dog the evil eye!

  2. GOOD NEWS if true about the dollarama..if only starbucks would move into the empty CIBC…..

and if only they would actually start work on those condos..what’s up with that?

  3. I’m sure most residents will support any business that can make a success of such a large retail space.
My suggestion to the realtor representing this space was for an international english language school.
These schools are what re-energized Yonge and Eglinton some time back.

  4. I’ve heard that the condos are 65-70% sold. I’ve also heard that there is a Starbucks opening at Plains Rd. and Coxwell in the old real estate office on the corner. Now you know all the rumours that I know. – Natasha

  5. Looks like rumours mentioned above are true – just noticed a Starbucks ‘coming soon’ sign at Plains & Coxwell. Mixed emotions I guess; like their coffee, but hope they don’t kill any of the smaller local offers. Love the coffee at Last Drop Coffee House at Coxwell & Sammon – think they get pretty steady business from devoted locals and hospital though. Location, location, location.
