Spring is chalking up to be a busy time for Danforth East! Join Councillor Janet Davis this evening (5:30 – 8:30 p.m.) at the East York Civic Centre to hear about, ask questions and provide feedback on two projects slated for Coxwell Station – a community mural project and a pre-construction open house.
Artisans at Work (2071 Danforth) has officially been opened one month now and the gang’s celebrating this weekend with, what else, an art show! They’re bringing more unique pieces and something that makes every event more lively – a licensed bar.
Through its ‘Easier Access’ project, the TTC is making the remaining 40 subway and RT stations accessible. At Coxwell station this will mean new elevators, accessible fare gates and automatic sliding doors to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers and a re-paved bus loop.
The TTC is hosting a project open house on Wednesday, March 7th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Kimbourne Park United Church at 200 Wolverleigh Blvd.

First – Thanks to Leo for pointing us to this story from the Toronto Star about the possibility of a transit museum/interpretive centre at the TTC barns at Coxwell and Danforth.
Second – MP, Jack Layton’s office is holding a community meeting to discuss local Canada Post services this Sunday (Feb 21st) from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Woodgreen Community Centre at 1491 Danforth (Classrooms 1 &2). Representatives from Canada Post will be on hand to hear from residents.
