We are coming up on the first day of fall, and the beautiful produce at the market is abundant! Let’s share some of the harvest this week with Community Fridges, back at the market for another collection visit.
We will also have art projects with Create Art Studio, a musical instrument petting zoo with Lane School of Music, and delicious shortbread from our local business popup, Grandma Betty’s Baking!
So bring your non-perishables for donation and we’ll see you at the market!
Delicious fall produce is here at the market along with our usual great vendors – check the list posted below for our rotating vendors.
SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice) will be in the Community Tent with more information about the rally to support Grassy Narrows. You can find more info from SURJ here:

A huge thank you to our volunteers and sponsors for making Bike Day at the Market a hit! 32 Spokes was hopping with all the bike tuneups, Our Greenway got to show cargo bikes to most of the neighbourhood (rough estimate) and the farmers saw the most business they’ve had all summer.
We are currently in need of volunteers to help set up the market, Thursdays 130-3pm and to work the kids’ tent, 3-5 pm. You can sign up for a slot here:

Other market fun this week:
See you at the market!
Our local business popup this week is the Pop Stand with their delicious handmade popsicles! Rotating vendors are Bata Maple Syrup and Beef, and Left Field Brewery.
This week at the market we’ve got a couple of really fun Kidpreneurs: Grow will be selling bookmarks, candles, bath salts and candy skewers and Happy Beaders will be selling jewelry. Our kidpreneurs pay a nominal fee to be at the market, and then share their profits with a charity of their choice. This summer we’ve been treated to all kinds of amazing kid-made treats and treasures! DECA is very grateful for the work of local author and financial literacy advocate Clifton Corbin for his organizing of the Kidpreneur program at the market.
The Space will be in the kids’ tent with some fun activities. They are currently registering for fall classes — they offer ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, acting, singing, and creative movement classes for children, teens, and adults. Fall classes start in September. You can find The Space here:
Next Thursday, August 31, DECA and 32 Spokes are excited to present Bike Day at the Market! Kids and grownups can bring their bikes and helmets for expert checks, make bike decorations and buttons, get glitter tattoos, and win prizes by doing a bike safety quiz. Prize sponsors are Carters’ Ice Cream, Silly Goose Kids, and Cyclepath.
