THURSDAY: East Lynn Park Farmers’ Market – Grand Opening

Our first week of the market was a spectacular day — everyone and their toddler was out to enjoy the sunshine and picnic on fresh strawberries and french fries in the park.Ā  How do we top that?
This week for our grand opening, we will have more food and more fun for the whole family.Ā  Here are the activities we have lined up:
  • HOOP ZONE:Ā Join in with Hoopersonic from 3:30-5:30 p.m. HooperSonic (est. 2015) is the brightly coloured, fun and friendly, business baby of Toronto Beaches resident Amy MacCutchan; Mom boss, chief hula hooper, and fabulous fitness cheerleader. She has been happily hoop dancing her way around town since 2011.
  • KIDS’ ART TIME: The lovely team from Create Art Studio will be in the face paint tent at 4:30 p.m. Create Art Studio is a welcoming community art school encouraging creative exploration for kids, teens, and adults through classes, workshops, events and more!Ā Check out their website to find programming.
  • TABLETOP GAMING: From 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. Face to Face Games will be running Table Tabletop fun for the whole family.
  • COMMUNITY WELLNESS BOOTH: We welcome back Pegasus Studio this week.Ā  Pegasus is a dance and art studio dedicated to creating a safe and creative space from children to grow and learn. They want their students to have success in dance and life and love having a strong community focus. We don’t teach kids to make great dancers, we teach dance to make great kids.

And, the winery this week will beĀ 13th Street .

Culinary volunteer Angela delivers meals to the farmers

Volunteering at the Farmers’ Market

If you’d like to get involved, we’re always looking for more volunteers as DECA Booth Volunteers, which basically means you get to chat with a lot of great people each week.Ā  And of course, our market is legendary for the warm and welcoming meals that we provide to our farmers.Ā  Each week a volunteer or team of culinary volunteer cooks prepares dinner for the people that bring us fresh, local food each week.Ā  It’s our way of saying thanks.Ā  Click on the links above to learn more or contact market@deca.to for other ways to contribute.
