Fairmount Park Winterfest

Fairmount Park is on Gerrard so slightly outside our boundaries but this amazing community event needed mentioning!

Stephenson Park

The Friends of Stephenson Park have been busy flooding their rink and are hoping to have it ready for a skating party on Family Day – tbd. If you can help with this rink, please email us here and we will connect you to Peter, the master flooder. You can also join the Friends of Stephenson Park Facebook page to keep in the loop of volunteer opportunities and all kinds of fun stuff!

Family Day in the ‘hood

A few events that you should know about!

Skating Party and Bonfire, Sunday February 15, 2:00-8:00pm
Stephenson Park

An amazing group of neighbours have come together to make a natural rink at Stephenson Park (just behind Sobey’s near Main & Danforth) and now these local heros are having a skating party and bonfire for the community. People have been baking and planning and it’s all shaking down on Sunday from 2-8pm. You know all those reasons why you love this neighbourhood? Well, this is all of them.

Skate Your Heart Out

Join your neighbours at Monarch Park this weekend for the Friends of Monarch Park Community Skating Party.  Fun runs Sunday from 3:00-5:00 p.m with hot chocolate, music and more.  Check out the poster below or the FoMP Facebook page for all the details.

And a huge thank you to our many hard-working, cold-loving, ice-flooding neighbours for creating rinks in other local parks as well.  The Friends of Stephenson Park have had smooth ice for a few days now and the East Lynn Park volunteers are expecting to have their ice smooth by the weekend.

Mark your calendars! When friends and family ask you what you’re doing this weekend, you can wow and impress them with the list of skating parties that you are attending.  (If only those mean girls in junior high could see you now!) Seriously though, this is a great chance to show winter exactly how it’s done.  See you on the rink!
