This Week at the Market: Blueberries, Flowers and Kale!

Before we get to this week, let’s talk about how outstanding the market was last week. Seems like every Thursday we’ve seen perfect market weather and last week was no exception. There were many new additions to the market last week too, including new vendors with blueberries, flowers and an amazing selection of greens!  Thanks to Mary-Margaret McMahon for not only sponsoring the movie night, but spending hours popping popcorn for the Indiana Jones fans to enjoy while taking in the movie. We also had many contributions from local businesses and neighbours that made the Beach Party & Movie Night so successful – thank you to Silly Goose Kids, Ankh Yoga and Nicola St. John.

There’s so much new and exciting to share about this week’s farmers’ market.  First, blueberries will be arriving this week! Plus, last week I spotted cherries and tried some super tasty corn. We’re coming up to prime produce season so both selection and taste are plentiful!

In the fun department, we’re having a Beach Party & Movie Night Celebration with generous support from Councillor Mary-Margaret McMahon.  There will also be drama activity with Young Ruffians, Camptown Races with Silly Goose Kids, ice cream and popcorn.  Beach blankets and beach chairs welcome!
