On April 12, 2014, we invited the neighbourhood to come and dream with us about improving the ‘hood. What an amazing day! Hundreds of you turned out with tons of ideas. Joe Drew summed up the day in his tweet “I, honestly, have never felt more excited for our neighbourhood. pic.twitter.com/hborvIBvYG #DEDreams”.

Thank you to our landlords Haig and David for providing the storefront space at 1811 Danforth for this event and to Melanie’s Bistro for coffee and treats, Moberly Natural Foods for popcorn, Beau’s beer, Councillor MM McMahon for lending us her popcorn maker, Mrs. Darling’s Imaginarium for Girls & Boys for crafting the Kids’ Dream Neighbourhood and 32 Spokes for getting everyone’s bikes ready for Spring!
One of the ways we got people talking was our giant map we lovingly called Neighbourhoodland (a la Candy Chang). People wrote what they love about the ‘hood now on pink stickies and their dreams for the ‘hood on yellow stickies. Here are the results!
