Mini Food Drive

What do six kids, a dog, and four wagons have in common?  They were all collecting food for the Annual Christmas Food Drive on south Cedarvale, Keystone, Amroth, Beck, and Oakcrest.

Residents received a notice via e-mail or in their mailbox a few days ahead of time and then left their donations on the porch.  Then the kids and families collected the food and took it to Woodbine Heights Baptist Church food bank, which feeds 50 – 100 families every week.

They are truly appreciative and the neighbours had a great time doing it.  The plan is to do another food drive in the spring.  Feel free to get your street to join in!

P.S. – one of our favourite local historians, Stephen Wickens, needs to get his guitar case fixed.  It’s probably a job for a luggage or shoe repair person.  Does anyone have a local recommendation for him?  Send him a note at s57wickens@sympatico.ca.
