Lead Tip

A lot of people have been talking to me about lead in our water lately.  I’d be interested to hear what kinds of results other people are getting.  ‘Fuzzyhead’ left a comment on the blog posting about lead.  And she offers this tip:

Never drink water from the hot-water tap. Hot water dissolves lead more quickly than cold water. Don’t even use water from the hot tap for cooking. It’s better to use cold and then boil it.

News you can use.
Stay tuned for pictures from tonight’s absolutely delightful Applemania.

  1. We tested at 10 micrograms.

The water folks told us that the whole city is getting new pipes over the next 9 years on a ‘priority’ basis. It sounds like many houses in our neighborhood are testing high, so lets all try to get tested so we can make our area a priority area and help everyone get safe water.

  2. I’m sorry to say that 20 is the highest I’ve heard so far. I would be interested to know if they replace the pipes in the 6-8 week timeline.
