  1. Hello, I came across the DECA website and started thinking how wonderful – finally a site about my neighbourhood. Then I read the Q&A and realized that for some obscure reason anyone living east of Main St. was not a part of the community. Can I ask why? I live on Luttrell Ave and I think it is as much “East Danforth” as places west of Main.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I strongly believe our area is one of the most attractive “up-and-coming” places in Toronto for young professionals who dread the idea of daily commute and yet do not want to live in a tiny condo surrounded by the concrete jungle of downtown TO. (We bought our house in December and I really love the neighbourhood).

    Good luck with your blog!

  2. Hi there,

The reason is simple, we had to draw a line somewhere. Our association has a huge geographic boundary. There are those who want us to push further west to Monarch Park or Greenwood as well. When we first started out we had a lot of discussion about where to draw the lines and in the end, this is where we drew them. Thanks for your interest.

  3. I understand, but why won’t you simply stick to the areas covered by the two BIAs? It makes sense. Otherwise you draw the line right in the middle of the Danforth Village, which in my humble opinion is not quite logical. I guess your members do shop in the Canadian Tire, Home Hardware. Staples and Metro as much as I do walk to Sobey’s and other stores on “your” side of the Danforth East.
Anyway, I guess in this case I cannot become a member:(
    Good luck!
